Ro Khanna, member of the House Armed Services Committee, strongly disagreed with President Trump's announcement that he will break with longstanding U.S. presidential policy by recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and begin the process of moving the U.S. embassy:

Washington, DC -- U.S. Representatives Ro Khanna (D-CA) and Mark Pocan (D-WI) released the following statement regarding President Trump's call for Saudi Arabia to lift a crippling blockade on Yemen that has prevented food, fuel, and medicine from reaching Yemenis facing a famine.

November 28, 2017 – Washington, DC – Rep. Ro Khanna, member of the House Armed Services committee, issued the following statement in reaction to North Korea firing another ballistic missile.

"North Korea's latest missile test highlights the urgent need for the Trump administration to produce a coherent strategy. Now is the time to learn from what President Bill Clinton achieved in the 1990s and engage in bilateral negotiations. As I've said previously, we must be willing to sit down with North Korea to explore all options to prevent them from developing dangerous capabilities."

Washington, DC – Before the Thanksgiving holiday, HR 3929, the Veteran Apprenticeship and Labor Opportunity Reform (VALOR) Act, was signed into law by the President of the United States. Currently, Rep. Ro Khanna is the only freshman Democrat, in either the House or the Senate, to have a bill signed into law.

Washington, DC – Today, HR 3949, the Veteran Apprenticeship and Labor Opportunity Reform (VALOR) Act, passed unanimously by a voice vote in the U.S. House of Representatives. The bipartisan bill now heads to the Senate.

Currently, private employers who offer apprenticeship programs in more than one state must register with each state approval agency individually. This trail of paperwork and burdensome review process often discourages employers from opening these apprenticeship programs to veterans.

Washington, DC – Rep. Ro Khanna, member of the House Budget Committee, issued the following statement in response to the new GOP tax plan.

"Massive corporations, millionaires, and billionaires do not deserve tax cuts at the expense of working families. The Republican plan is a disservice to a third of the middle class Americans who would have to pay higher taxes. I am disappointed that it limits the traditional state and local tax (SALT) deduction to property taxes, placing an even greater burden on the residents of California in particular."

Washington, DC – In early October, Reps. Ro Khanna (D-CA), Thomas Massie (R-KY), Mark Pocan (D-WI), and Walter Jones (R-NC), introduced a bipartisan resolution, H.CON.RES.81, to stop U.S. military participation in Saudi Arabia's war against the Houthis in Yemen.
