Washington, DC – In an effort to protect judicial independence and restore public trust, Reps. Ro Khanna (CA-17) and Don Beyer (VA-08) along with Barbara Lee (CA-13) and Rashida Tlaib (MI-13) reintroduced the Supreme Court Term Limits Act to fundamentally reframe the power of our nation's highest court. The bill would establish 18-year term limits on any Supreme Court Justices approved after his bill's passage. After their 18-year terms, justices would then be allowed to continue their service on lower courts.

September 1, 2021 - Washington, DC - Today, Rep. Ro Khanna (CA-17), a member of the House Armed Services Committee, announced his intention to cast his vote against advancing the FY22 National Defense Authorization Act to the floor after the Committee adopted an amendment to add $23.9 billion above President Biden's Pentagon budget request. This is the first time Rep. Ro Khanna has voted against advancing the national defense policy bill to the floor.

As students reenter classrooms around the country, a surge in the Delta variant puts children of all ages at risk –- particularly younger children, who are not yet eligible for the vaccine.

Washington, DC – Tonight, the House Financial Services Committee passed Rep. Ro Khanna (CA-17) and Rep. Cindy Axne's (IA-03) legislation designed to keep manufactured housing communities (MHCs) affordable by providing federal assistance for acquiring and preserving these communities.

The Manufactured Housing Community Preservation Act would create a new grant program to help nonprofits, resident-formed cooperatives, and other local entities purchase and maintain an MHC through awards of up to $2 million.

The bill allocates $900 billion in R&D funding for emerging technologies like cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology. It will also create up to three million good new jobs annually, administered by a newly created Federal Institute of Technology (FIT).
