STATEMENT: KHANNA ON THE PASSAGE OF THE BIPARTISAN INFRASTRUCTURE BILL

November 6, 2021

Washington, DC – November 6, 2021 – Today, Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), Deputy Whip for the Congressional Progressive Caucus, issued the following statement on the House passage of the bipartisan infrastructure bill.

"I was glad to vote for the bipartisan infrastructure bill having received reassurances from both President Biden and House Democrats that they will vote for the Build Back Better Act once it has received a score from the Congressional Budget Office. This bill will make a long overdue investment in our roads, bridges, railroads, airports, and dramatically expand broadband access," said Rep. Ro Khanna. "Throughout this process, progressives have been behind President Biden and have bent over backwards to negotiate in good faith and deliver for the American people. This is an important first step, but we need to pass Build Back Better to carry out the president's full agenda. The historic Build Back Better package will finally address the climate crisis, create good paying jobs, and make child care accessible for American families struggling across the country. I have faith that my colleagues will stick to their word and help us get this done."
