Silicon Valley – Today, Rep. Khanna of the oversight committee issued the following statement in response to the announcement from Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III that he was closing his office.

"We need Congress, through our committee work, to continue to aggressively investigate the president and hold him accountable. I believe we should immediately take decisive action to censure him and keep all our options on the table. What President Trump did is wrong and violates the rule of law and our ethical norms."

Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Ro Khanna joined a bicameral group of lawmakers in introducing the Opioid Crisis Accountability and Results Act, as Vermont Attorney General T. J. Donovan announced a lawsuit today against former Purdue Pharma CEO Richard Sackler and seven family members who served on Purdue's Board of Directors for deliberately misrepresenting the risks of the drug OxyContin.

In response to today's oped in the New York Times by Facebook Co-Founder Chris Hughes, Rep. Khanna issued the below statement:

"Chris Hughes is a thoughtful voice for those left out of the digital economy. I agree with him that, in retrospect, the FTC should not have approved Facebook's acquisition of Instagram & WhatsApp in 2012. I believe the way forward is to heavily scrutinize future mergers and to ensure no company has anti-competitive platform privileges.

Yesterday, Rep. Ro Khanna (CA-17) along with Reps. Debbie Dingell (MI-12) and Dan Kildee (MI-5), introduced the PFAs Waste Incineration Ban Act of 2019.

The legislation would require the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to prohibit the incineration of firefighting foam containing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAs). Additionally, the bill would require the EPA to identify other wastes containing PFAs and prohibit their incineration.

Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Khanna praised Senator Gillibrand's plan to give every voter funding to donate to campaigns. Last Congress, Khanna worked with Bruce Ackerman and Larry Lessig, the original authors of democracy dollars, to introduce "The Democracy Dollars Act" (HR 7306).

Washington, DC – Rep. Ro Khanna issued the following statement after President Trump vetoed the Yemen War Powers Resolution passed by both the House and the Senate with bipartisan support.

"From a president elected on the promise of putting a stop to our endless wars, this veto is a painful missed opportunity. The Yemen War Powers Resolution was a bipartisan, bicameral effort to end the world's largest humanitarian crisis and supported by some of the president's most trusted Republican allies.

Washington, DC – Today, Reps. Ro Khanna (CA-17) and Andy Kim (NJ-3) sent a letter to President Trump ahead of his meeting with South Korea's President Moon Jae-in. In the letter, the Members of Congress urge the Trump Administration not to block South Korea's efforts to engage in cross-border business ventures that can build trust and facilitate progress towards denuclearization.
