Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Ro Khanna (CA-17) and Rep. Mark Pocan (WI-02) introduced the Farmer Fairness Act. The bill would extend the environmental liability that Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO) contract farmers are already subject to under the Clean Water Act to integrator companies.

Washington, DC – Today, by a vote of 251-170, the House of Representatives successfully passed the Rep. Ro Khanna (CA-17) and Rep. Matt Gaetz (FL-1) amendment to the annual National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) to prevent federal funds from being used for any military force in or against Iran without congressional authorization. In addition to blocking funds for a war, this amendment clarifies neither the 2001 nor 2002 Authorization for the Use of Military Force (AUMF) can be invoked to justify the use of military force against Iran.

Washington, DC – Today, Reps. Ro Khanna (D-CA), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Anna Eshoo (D-CA), Peter Welch (D-VT), Yvette Clarke (D-NY), Ben Ray Lujan (D-NM) and G.K. Butterfield (D-NC) introduced a bipartisan bill, the Measuring the Economic Impact of Broadband Act, to require the Bureau of Economic Analysis to conduct a study of the effects of broadband deployment and adoption on the U.S. economy. The legislation empowers policymakers to make more informed decisions about broadband, connecting underserved communities and keeping America competitive in a digital world.

Ro Khanna (CA-17) and Matt Gaetz (FL-1) released the following statement after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer came to an agreement for the Senate to vote on Friday, June 28 on the Udall-Kaine-Paul-Lee amendment to prevent an unauthorized war against Iran.

San Jose – On Tuesday June 18, as reported in the San Francisco Chronicle, Lam Le and Hiep Nguyen were granted temporary visas in order to provide life-saving medical bone marrow to their brother, Tu Le of San Jose, who is undergoing treatment for a rare form of blood cancer known as myelodysplastic syndrome.

1. Preventing funds to be used with war with Iran amendment. Unless there is legislation from Congress authorizing military force against Iran, or if the US is attacked, no funds in the NDAA can be used for war with Iran.
