STATEMENT: Rep. Khanna on work to end U.S. complicity in the war in Yemen

June 4, 2019
Press Release

Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Khanna issued the below statement to provide an update on his work to end U.S. complicity in the war in Yemen.

“While Trump's Administration continues to sell bombs to the Saudis and Emirates, Congress remains committed to ending the war in Yemen. We have already achieved a huge milestone in the Administration stopping the refueling of Saudi planes. Progressives will be leading the fight through the NDAA process, the Foreign Affairs Committee, and through appropriations to stop bomb sales to the Saudis. We will also be pushing for bipartisan legislation to end the Saudi blockade and to allow for aid to get to the people who need it without the Houthis intercepting it. I remain in close touch with Special Envoy to the United Nations Secretary-General Martin Griffiths to see what else Congress can do and it remains a very high priority.”
