STATEMENT: Rep. Khanna to re-introduce Yemen War Powers Resolution, Thursday 1/31

January 25, 2019
Press Release

Poised for passage working with House leadership

Washington, DC – Today, following President Trump’s announcement of a short term funding solution for the government, Rep. Khanna, working in conjunction with House leadership, announced plans to re-introduce the Yemen war powers resolution on Thursday, January 31.

“I’m grateful for Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, Rules Chair Jim McGovern, as well as CPC Co-Chairs Mark Pocan and Pramila Jayapal, Foreign Affairs Chair Eliot Engel, and Armed Services Chair Adam Smith for working together in supporting this as one of the top priorities of the 116th Congress. I’m also appreciative of Senator Bernie Sanders for partnering on this in the upper chamber. Together, we will work to end the worst humanitarian crisis of our time by ending all U.S. involvement in the Saudi-led war in Yemen.”
