STATEMENT: Rep. Khanna on next steps for Congress in the midst of Pichai’s testimony
Washington, DC – Rep. Khanna of Silicon Valley released the below statement in light of Google CEO Pichai's testimony today.
"Since I was elected, I have advocated for Americans' rights to their own private data on the web. Time and time again Mark Zuckerberg, Sundar Pichai and other tech leaders have said they welcome both data security and consumer privacy legislation. At the request of Leader Pelosi, and working with experts like Nicole Wong and Tim Berners-Lee, I drafted a Bill of Rights for the internet. Congress must not wait and use my internet Bill of Rights principles as a guide to draft thoughtful, nuanced legislation for regulating the internet."
Further reading on the principles is available from the New York Times.
