REP. KHANNA CELEBRATES NEWLY OPENED CENTER TO SUPPORT MENTAL HEALTH AT MILPITAS HIGH SCHOOL & $300,000 IN FEDERAL FUNDING HE SECURED

Santa Clara, CA – Representative Ro Khanna (CA-17) released the following statement today applauding the new student wellness center at Milpitas High School, which he secured $300,000 for in community project funding as part of the House Appropriations Committee fiscal year 2022 funding bills:

“One of the questions I get asked the most by parents and teachers in my district is how we can solve the mental health crisis among kids. It’s time for Congress to step up and invest in expanding mental health resources in schools. 

“I was proud to secure $300,000 in community project funding in Congress for the new student wellness center at Milpitas High School to provide students with the mental health resources and the support they need to thrive. 

“As we celebrate the new MHS Wellness Center, I want to thank the County Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Mary Ann Dewan, MUSD Superintendent Cheryl Jordan, and all of the teachers in Silicon Valley for their incredible work in our community.”
